Squirrel action

As it tipped down with rain throughout the day I was finding lots of covered routes to plod around so I didn’t get too wet. On this particular path I met a very industrious squirrel. He had already deconstructed what looked like a pine cone and left the unwanted bits in a pile in the foreground.

He was then busy making short work of a second one.  I hung back so he could finish before I plodded on and scared him off. I have seen lots of these little piles of debris about and now I know what they are!
