Saltcoats Castle

Finding ourselves once more in Gullane and having enjoyed once more the Cullen Skink at the Old Clubhouse, we took a wander down to revisit Saltcoats Castle.

The castle appears much as before but  within is badly overgrown with bramble and small trees - cherry, elder and sycamore being the most obvious. As yet they have not encroached upon the stonework.

The photo is of the Southern aspect from the boundary wall, across rough grass. As you can see the sky is blue, the sun was shining and the day most pleasant.
