From the Village

Today we got to Sweetheart's vine in order to pick its grapes and tramp the juice out of them for the first stade of making wine... white wine these Romeiko grapes make.
Sweetheart's friends (him Dutch and her Greek, with whom we'd collected the olives 3 years ago) and I picked the grapes and did the works.
The pensionados, t.i. Sweetheart and her papa, sat in the shade and watched us work :-)

Thank you all lots for your reactions upon yesterblip of the Almerikia trees on the Nea Chora beach of Chania (they grow along the coasts here coz their leaves can bear the salty vapors from the sea)
