Dull, mizzly and I've only nipped round the garden with the cat, who was very insistent.
A catching up sort of day - Himself in the roof space doing stuff with cables in preparation for the sheep's wool to go up there.  A rather alarming lot of evidence of rodent activity, including gnawed cables. As Himself pondered, how come they don't electrocute themselves.

We have been attempting to find ways of making the house more  energy efficient and have been foiled at almost every attempt. We had a very efficient chap in to do an audit and then make suggestions. Our BER rating (Building Energy Rating) was pretty grim (but reassuringly so are most houses in Ireland) and his suggestions just gave me an instant headache! The roof's too steep for solar panels, it would take a massive amount of work to get it up to spec for heat pumps, the bio gas doesn't really seem very bio, the electricity grid is stretched already and the insulation we have in the walls doesn't count because you can't see it. We are doing what we can. We are bunging in more insulation ( I use the term we loosely), taking out the old oil range (really sad as we both love it but we're not sure it would creak and crank for another winter and there are huge waiting lists for more efficient new ones) replacing it with a boiler and having the radiators revamped as necessary.

Oh and angels pecking order - first prize to Talpa. You will be interested to know there are 9 Orders and the archangels are pretty low down. The top lads are the Seraphim. Once you start investigating it's very odd indeed:
Top layer
Seraphim
Cherubim
Thrones     (er, who?)
Middle layer
Dominations or lordships
Virtues
Powers of Authority   (still with me?)
Lower layer
Principalities or rulers
Archangels (yay!)
Angels
I shall let you Google for the full info.

And Will is back tomorrow for a week. This time he has to fly to Dublin, get a coach down to Cork and we'll pick him up there. I hope he's feeling as energetic as last time for the list is long! Actually he'll have to take it a bit easy as his shoulder is still recovering from his small op. I may be off piste for a bit.
