Imprisoned

I'd never believe anybody if they told me it can rain for 3 days non-stop in the driest state of the driest coutry. Well, it has been and it still keeps on coming. It's so wet that greenness started growing between the stones of my patio and around the house - in 3 days! The bush in the corner of the garden is in bloom. Grass desperately needs cutting. And on top of that it is Anzac Day. We're very patriotic, we bought a tin of Anzac biscuits. Anzac Day, when it falls on a Saturday in South Australia, doesn't carry onto Monday, oh no, we'll be working on Monday. Instead all shops are closed all day. So not only we can't go out because of the weather, we also can't do mundane weeking shopping or even entertainment shopping. Not that I caonsider it an entertainment. But cabin fever kicks in quite quickly. Tomorrow rain or shine we must be out.

I managed to turn the day into a useful one, sorting out paperwork, getting Hanna's room into shape (at last), I even pulled out cookery books in order to prepare a menu for the week and on this basis a shopping list, but haven't got there yet.

Hanna is into dolls again. It comes in waves. She pick up this one and even named her. Naming dolls, cuddly toys has never been her priority. Now we've got a new Molly. She must be Milly's sister. Milly is Hanna's first doll. She now sleeps with one or the other, whci of course can't be very comfortable. Also Hanna's been trying to enable Molly a proper conversation at a dinner (or lunch, as pictured above) and we've had pillows piled up high on chairs until this morning when this little doll carrier fitted perfectly and will stay in place for ever for Molly to accompany us at meal times.
