Mullaghmore

Did the Mullaghmore Loop walk in the Burren this afternoon, about 7.5km on a marked trail in limestone terrain . Very windy and showery, but the showers made for great clarity. The scenery is amazing with twisted limestone terraces and hazel scrub. The limestone is carboniferous, laid down in sediments in a sea that covered Ireland 350 million years ago. There are lots of fossils, such as the corals in the extra --- the polyps are about 2 or 3mm across.

I couldn't resist a second extra, an action shot of a kite surfer taken at Traught Beach this morning.
