A diary of sorts

Plan V....

After a couple of nights in Aviemore with The Watch I had been planning to treat myself to a run in the Cairngorms when everyone headed home.

The weather however, was far from ideal; 4°c with driving rain and sleet up at the ski centre. It wasn't going to be either enjoyable or prudent to head for solo run with lightweight kit in such an unforgiving mountain range.

All was not lost, heading south on the A9 the skies began to clear, as I neared Pitlochry Ben Vrackie came into sight, looking very inviting set against blue skies. Perfect.

A quick up and down, stretches of sunshine, fine views from the top and a fast flowing descent. Always good to have a plan B when it comes to getting your hill fix.
