Harvest Festival

..service in church today.

B our mainstay organiser had gathered some wheat from the fields about 4 weeks ago before it was all harvested. The remainder, after mice had feasted on it, is shown above.

All of the donated items of fresh and manufactured food items were laid out in the church as usual for donation to the local home for children with learning difficulties.

Divine Insurgency
I made a conscious effort to be warm and welcoming to our rogue vicar on returning from his 2 month sabbatical today, which was not reciprocated. Perhaps the Archdeacon has already had a word with him; my observations/ criticisms were meant in a constructive way, as I said to her during our chat.

To the sorrow of the villagers, our own local Reader, who lives in the old vicarage next to our church was hoping to lead the service but was overruled and instead was asked to lead the service at another local village church.  On delivering a prayer at the service B shook her head negatively as she mentioned welcoming the vicar back. Interesting times..
