Ta-da!

Today I found a plant for the pottery cylinder I brought a few weeks ago. I'm delighted to have some local pottery in my garden with a suitably quirky plant. I'm definitely drawn to Japanese plants.

In theory Cryptomeria japonica 'spiralis' should tolerate this heavily shaded spot. For those interested it's a "slow growing mound or pyramid with odd twisted needles over all branches. Very unusual". I may even be tempted to learn to bonsai this chap.

All the usual Saturday stuff and time with friends this evening.

Today's gratitude: For my friend's excitement. They're expecting their first child.
