The Shore

... which isn't really the shore as there is now a big harbour between this point and the mouth of the River Forth. A few hundred years ago the ships would come right up to this part of the Water of Leith and unload their wares into the buildings all along the waterside and up the wee closes (alleys) off it. These days, ships can't get up the river to this point as they bridges are too low and the basin is all silted up.

Swapped wfh for a couple of hours in the office this afternoon. Nice to see real faces, even masked up. I luckily avoided the heavy rain and emerged into soggy sunshine.
