The RSPB website tells me that Little Egrets are one the UK's most recent colonising birds. It also informs me that they are seen on the south and west coasts of England. If that's true, then it's remarkable to see this one in Dallington, Northampton in central England, about as far from the sea as it's possible to get.

What a wild, chilly day! Central heating on most of the day, winter outdoor clothes required for walking.
