Relax, Wine, Shop

What a treat to spend the morning getting some work out of the way, having a good breakfast and reading.  Great lunch of tomato based spicy sauce with pasta and a very short nap while the sisters went down to Mourao to post a letter at the closed Post Office as unbeknownst to the locals, today was a holiday celebrating the end of the monarchy.  I thought perhaps the Portuguese equivalent of Harry and Meghan had skipped off to California but apparently they had already disposed of the old king and then finally his son gave up the monarchy after a further 2 years.  Anyway, no mail was posted, and Leyna managed to be spat at by a cucumber plant - see bgleyna's blip.  Then it was off to Ervideira for wine tasting and that was a real treat, with 3 white wines, 3 reds and a port like after dinner drink that they created by selling the must to a distillery and then buying back the resultant brandy to fortify their wine.  Really enjoyed one of the whites that was made from red tempranilla grapes, and the 2 Reserve wines.  Bought a few bottles to take back to the UK and the US and then traveled back via the supermarket to shop for ingredients for food I am cooking for 7 tomorrow night.  This photo is not a miniature of Leyna, its just the bottle was a little larger than normal.
