Snap, crackle, and pop

Frejus

Rain overnight and still gloomy and damp when we got up. There was snow on the tops! The weather remained gloomy as we set off.

Today was all bigger hills and longer tunnels. Much of our journey was underground.

This is us entering the Frejus tunnel, when it had decided to rain properly. 13 Km later we popped out into Italy where the temperature was a good ten degrees higher and there was wall to wall sunshine. What a transformation!

We are on a campsite near Turin. There's a view of the snow-capped Alps but the temperature has been in the low Twenties this afternoon. We walked into the local town and found the effort to be taxing.

Tomorrow we will take things easier. There's an ice cream farm 700 metres away and we feel that we should test some proper Italian Gelato. I have my eye on the Sicilian Cassata flavour...

On Friday we are going to a vineyard stop that we know. I am very much looking forward to being there.
