Harvest time

I've picked all the apples from the two trees in the garden here, picked out the slightly rotten, the majority of which have now been cooked down to puree & frozen, the apples I could'nt reach so had to wang them with a metal pole that just happened to be to hand have been shared out, the remainder are what I managed to hand pick & therefore hopefully be able to store through the Winter until needed as freezer space is limited. Two varieties, the variety in the blip can be eaten as a dessert apple, or great in a pie.
A beautiful sunny start to the day, Yogi & I walked up the bridle path around the lanes, back down into Ringmore, then back through the lanes to home. I took the plastic collar off for today's walk as it interfered with his sniffing about in the hedgerow. About 10 minutes from home I had a phone call from hubby. A motorist had hit the side of his parked car. details exchanged, I had to e.mail our insurance company's info plus his car info through to the chap who hit his car. He had driven home to Dawlish from hitting the car in Chudleigh, as he did'nt have pen & paper to leave his details on hubby's windscreen. After popping his info under the windscreen wiper on his return he decided to ring a few door bells, ours was first, so as I spoke to hubby, the driver was sat with him. His insurance company contacted hubby and offered him £2,200 for the car plus a courtesy car for 7 days. Hubby paid £2,000 for the car 3 years ago. After describing the state of the car (unable to move when in gear/  accompanied by a grinding noise), with a garage owner friend about the possible problem, it sounded as though the driveshaft was damaged, an expensive job, so hubby thinks he has found a new car in Chudleigh and will take the deal/settlement.
Uncle Steve arrived when we were back in the garden after our walk, not my Uncle Steve, Yogi's, and he came bearing 2 big juicy cooked sausages as a little treat as he'd heard from the owners that he'd been attacked. Well the sausages did'nt touch the sides. In fact he nearly managed to nibble at Uncle Steve's sausage bap as well. He asked me to take some pics on his phone for him to send to J&K.
I met Mum & Jan for lunch in Shaldon, we had to sit outside as no tables available inside, which was fine when the sun shone but a tad chilly when it disappeared behind the clouds. The Clipper was short staffed??? I don't understand why, how, these businesses are short staffed. They were busy, the sun had brought everyone out.
It's chilly sat here now watching Strictly Take 2. What I like about dog/housesitting is that I can watch Portrait Artist of the Year on Sky Arts as we don't have Sky at home. Whoop whoop!! 2 episodes tonight.
Thanks to steveng for hosting Wide Wednesday #AlmostAutumn
