You can tell Autumn is almost upon us when the berries on this shrub in the garden start turning this startling colour.

We dropped Sophie off at school this morning, grabbed a breakfast roll in Sainsbury’s then headed back for domestic duties: baking bread, chopping kindling then doing a bit of shopping for more upcoming birthdays.
