Post Swim Tea and Cake

Ruth and I swam in a very full Bassenthwaite this afternoon we had to swim from the bottom of the steps. All summer there has been a beach to walk across. We swam 800 metres. It took40 minutes and felt like we were swimming through treacle going up the lake to the yellow buoy (I’m sure the sailing club have moved it again). Swimming back was a doddle but finding out entry point due to the high water. Post swim cake was fabulous but it took the pair of us 4 hours to warm up probably. Well warm enough to have a glass or two of Prosecco.
