Prep

It’s that time of year again, chopping 1.5 kilos of fruit for the Christmas cake and soaking it in a quarter bottle of brandy. If it all gets soaked up, no problem, there’s plenty more. That was about it for today.
Just remembered that I forgot to wash the syrup off the glacé cherries so they might sink to the bottom of the cake. Reminds me of my mum; every year she’d make a cherry cake and every year produced a Madeira cake with a row of cherries at the bottom! Tasted good though.
