Now, as I see it......

Members’ Day

Members’ Day on the North Norfolk Railway.  As members, W and I were entitled to free travel all day on the railway, a guided tour of the sheds at Weybourne, and a free pint of beer in the Gresley Buffet.  I managed to use the first two but the Gresley Buffet carriage seemed always to be going in the opposite direction to me so I missed out on the pint.  The guided tour was excellent; a young volunteer on the railway who was extremely knowledgeable and took about an hour to show us all around the works.

This was inside the engine shed; there was a line of these faces for special trains all along the wall behind the engine.  A couple of extras; the B12 taken from inside the engine shed.  It should have been running today but broke a spring on its first journey so will have to be repaired; they hope to do it so it can have a final weekend outing at the end of the month before it is withdrawn for major overhaul.  Another at Holt station as we headed home at the end of the afternoon.  The bus appeared to be about 200 miles off course but behind it is the engine that pulled us home from Sheringham.
