Stuff and Nonsense

Greenshank #93

We started our day with croissants on the patio in the sunshine this morning. Who would have thought that would have been possible mid October?
Seaton Wetlands was our first port of call and there was plenty to see - lots of waders, including a couple of greenshank. I always think they are quite handsome birds. There was also a green sandpiper which might have been my blip as it’s the first time I’ve seen one this year, or a lovely little egret, but they can wait for another day. All in all, a great site with 5 hides and some nice sculptures, plenty of benches and toilets!
After finding that The Ship Inn was fully booked, we headed a bit further up the coast to Branscombe and had lunch at the cafe at the beach and then a walk on the beach. It was a lovely place but the single track roads up and down winding steep hills were a bit hairy!
