In giving this holiday acomodation the name Amber Nook I carried around a piece of amber to help inspire me with the choice of décor. I liked the dictionary definition of the name, too.

AMBER - n: a yellowish translucent resin deriving from extinct (esp. coniferous) trees and used in jewellery; the honey-yellow colour of this.
adj. made of or coloured like amber.

NOOK - n: a corner or recess: a secluded place.
