back into the realm of fossils...

sok kwu wan village on lamma island, hong kong... a bit like the last couple of fossils, a place that where its modern self has diverged from what was caught by these old photo's... back then it was pretty much a strip of restaurants, fish farms and fisherfolk and a pier for an occasional ferry over to hk island, a place to walk over to from sok yue wan on a sunday... lamma island a kind of refuge from the city, nothing in the way of traffic or roads but only a short ferry journey into the metropolis, still a couple of years before mobile phones and digital camera were sewn upon our appendages, where a few fading prints and scratched and scraped sheets of negatives inform memory... but hk as it was remains only a thought away, it's present situation a sorrow and a tragedy...
