Horse of the Year

Definitely an equine theme to the weekend.  We headed over to the N.E.C. for the final evening of the show, finding ourselves on the front row of seats to watch the event.  It started with the Pony Club final competing for the Prince Philip Cup.  Absolutely amazing to watch these young people galloping across the arena.  Well done to East Hants who were victorious.

The show finished with the international show jumping event, won by Harry Charles on Stardust.  But that wasn't all.  The evening included lots of different displays, including the Household Cavalry Display Team.  

I only took a small compact camera, after reading the restrictions on what you could bring in to the arena. Reality was somewhat different with minimal checks in place.  For the first time we felt uncomfortable in crowded spaces of the retail area, probably a product of the afternoon and evening audiences mixing as they arrived/left.  Masks on, we moved through to the arena as soon as we could.
