Made of paper!

This beautiful hand - made (yes hand made!) card was given to Patrick by a very clever friend for his birthday. It sat in the middle of the birthday card and could be folded and flattened to be placed in an envelope. Incredible! And as it turns out the best model for my entry for today’s challenge - inventions of the 19th century.
