A view from St Swithin

Don’t try this at home

A walk with some old school pals in the Derry / Glen Quoich area became a bit adventurous with this river crossing. The water was only inches deep, but pretty cold even in early Autumn. I found a technique of socks off and boots on worked for me though my boots will take a while to dry out. I’m sure most mountain leaders will be holding their heads in their hands at this rather shambolic crossing but we all made it intact. It’ll make a good story. It’s just as well we didn’t need any assistance - the Braemar Mountain Rescue team was involved in 3 call outs this weekend.
