Skrivlins

Showers in the morning, but cleared into a mostly sunny day.  There was a bitterly cold wind, but flat calm tonight.

Morning walkies was cancelled, due to the showers, but popped by Madeline's before work.  Late shift in the airport today, and mostly on the check-in desk.  The fire alarm sounded at lunchtime, and a chilly stand outside for a bit, thankfully a false alarm.  Last flight in was late, passengers made it off, but it couldn't take off again.  Re-booked passengers for tomorrow.  Walkies with Sammy, and now feet up.

The next stage in the corn harvest.  The first sheaves to be stacked up are called stooks, containing six to twelve sheaves.  To help dry the corn a bit more, it needs turning and rebuilt into bigger stooks, called skrivlins.  These are smaller than a traditional skrivlin, not as much grown now.  Taken on my way to work, at South Voxter, Cunningsburgh.
