More exploring………

Scotland trip day 15 Duncansby Head.

…… thanks to a lovely man we met on the beach last night, we found some amazing gems today, our first stop was a drive up a single track road to visit Duncansby Head to see the the lighthouse but we didn’t stop there, following a well trodden path - brought us to the wonderful sight of the Geo of Sclaites, a huge cleft bitten deeply into the cliffs.

A little further on battling against the wind we came to the day’s highlight, the stunning view south to Thirle Door and the magnificent Stacks of Duncansby a sight to take your breath away.

We finally drag ourselves away and head onwards towards Wick, our advice was to  investigate some of the villages on route, we make a stop at Keiss and find a lovely little harbour (Mr PC says for someone who is afraid of water I have a fascination for boats).

We journey on in the search of Castle Sinclair Girmigoe but get side tracked at the village of Staxigoe were we stop for lunch and do a bit of seal spotting, by the time we got to the castle the weather had deteriorated considerably, so leaving it for another day.

Thank you for all your lovely comments on our journey so far.
