a lifetime burning

The much delayed patio furniture has now been inaugurated.  Its taken so long to get hold of that you might forgive us if we'd had a ribbon cutting ceremony.  In the event, Cathy and I had lunch outdoors and then this afternoon after meeting up with friends for a walk, Cathy brought them back for refreshments ... on the patio.

While Cathy was making the cups of tea I grabbed the opportunity to take a quick shot of G, who is busy recounting a story whilst gesturing with her left hand.

G is naturally right handed but can't use that arm currently.  She recently took her daughter to Paris for a long weekend to celebrate her daughter's birthday, and while there managed to fall and break her arm in 3 places.  The accident occurred while she was crossing a road with a cycle lane.  G didn't notice that the cycle lane was physically separated from the main carriageway by a low kerb like structure, which she then tripped over...   Ouch.  Fortunately she seems to be making a good recovery at the moment.

As you can see, the garden is looking a little shaggy now, if not positively jungle like, but its great to still have some flowers brightening up the place.
