We visited Bilbao today and visited the Guggenheim. The exhibition that was on was a retrospective of American female artist Alice Neel. What a talent she was and what an impressive body of work produced over decades. I'd never heard of her but it was a real treat to see her portraits over the decades. She was ground breaking in many ways and her ability to capture the personality of her sitters was whar really stood out for me.
