Bar-tailed Godwits

It has been an amazing day today - sunny and not much wind, although what wind there was is pretty chill as it's still coming from the east.

Husband and i had a walk along the beach this afternoon - didn't see another soul. There were quite a few birds along the shoreline - Oystercatcher, Sanderling, Redshank, Ringed Plover, and at least 6 Great Northern Divers plus these Bar-tailed Godwits. I didn't much like the background i'd photographed them against and you know how i like to "tiddle" so i extracted them and added my own background.

Across the golf course and machair the Skylarks are starting to sing and the Lapwings are displaying, really makes you feel like spring is almost here :-)
