Austria part 2

A very different location today. We are on a campsite on the edge of Imst. 2 minutes from a very urban setting with a choice of supermarkets etc. yet on two sides of us we have open fields with cows and cowbells jangling. The Alps tower on every side.

Bowled over by the quality of the sanitary facilities here, quite the best that we have met to date!

The journey here was quite mixed. We set off in frost and sun. The motorway quickly offered us some roadworks and contraflows but we were soon out of them. Many lorries but for much of the way they were restricted to just 40 Kph.

After Innsbruck (surprisingly large and sprawling) a change of pace and a change of scenery - still the Alps but with a very different character. The road was less crowded and the drive became a pleasure.

We have been impressed with the Austrian motorways. Good road surface and very frequent stopping places.

This afternoon Nell went for a walk. The narrow road outside the site quickly turns into a walking trail. When she came home we went out for a late lunch at a local Italian restaurant and after checked out one of the supermarkets - a SPAR but quite unlike any SPAR that we have ever met before. We bought much that was unnecessary but will no doubt bring delight (did anyone mention Stollen? or Lebkuchen?)

Site not very Dusty-compatible but for once we are putting The Driver's needs first. It's time for a day off so we are stopping for two nights.

Hoping to hit Lichtenstein next but as there is only one campsite in the entire country we may be unlucky, in which case it will be Germany.
