A Day In The Life

The Last Hurrah

Our October summer ended yesterday. Today and this weekend are transition days as temps have dropped, and the sun has been replaced by clouds with rain arriving tonight. Next week will bring mostly bare trees and even cooler weather. Well, it IS October… It’s been a nice ride :) • We removed a couple of asters from outdoor planters and put them in the ground. I swear I heard “fresh asters now available, come and get it!” echo through the trees. Guaranteed the flowers will be gone in a day or two, compliments of a few wandering, hungry deer. We actually saw one passing through shortly before we started digging. With the leaves thinning out, they’re much easier to spot in the woods. Nice for us but not for them • Happy Friday, and you know what that means: it’s Flower Friday! Thanks to bikerbear for hosting. I wanted to capture one last shot of the morning glories growing along our fence. You can still see the hole in the creeping phlox bed from the excavated yellow jacket nest. We haven’t seen a skunk since • Have a peaceful, happy and healthy weekend :)
