Beauty is all around us.

A beautiful fragrant Autumn rose.

The Feast Day of St. Gerard. Patron saint of Housewives and homemakers.
Today is a lovely cold, clear Autumnal Saturday 11c outside and thankful our heating is working again after the water pressure dropped yesterday.
That was not as bad as the poor people stuck on the canal, who have no heat or power and are dependent on solar power for their narrowboats.
Lancs Live online carries more of their story if you are interested. The canal is being drained due to a crack in a culvert near Church and Oswaldtwistle, so until the repairs are done they are in an unfortunate plight. They can not leave their boats unattended for fear of vandalism.
Thankfully the Canal Cafe serves hot food and drinks.
My favourite fragrance is Paul Smith's Rose and it is like the perfume of this rose which grows at The Esplanade rose bed in Rishton.
I am going to watch Escape to the Country at 2pm with Paul and then continue with some crocheting and reading.
Have a lovely afternoon blip friends and thank you for visiting my site today.
