The view from above and foggy rain

It's raining, the first rain since we arrived on October 1st. We have had such fabulous weather, we're amazed. We've been as lucky as we were on our trip to Ireland in 2019.

My niece's husband, David took the drone shot this summer. Our house is the second of the twin Cape Cod style houses on our lane, off of the main road, at the base of 'Trafton's Hill' You can see our house if you look below the  church. We're closest to the old cemetery, high on a bluff overlooking the tidal Machias River as she flows out into the bay and Atlantic. We love our neighbors, and everything about this house and location. We are all eternally grateful that my maternal great grandfather and great grandmother settled in this house, built around 1840. My grandfather and his four siblings were raised here, his sister lived here, all her life, until she was 97. She left the house to my mother and down it has passed to my brother and me.

For the Record,
This day came in with heavy rain and fog. We didn't care, it's our cleaning and pack up day, we sadly leave tomorrow. We've spent 42 day of this summer here in our heaven.

All hands happy
