Fly Agaric

I came across this on the river bank today and thought that I would snap it just in case I didn’t come across a better photo for my blip. It was quite a dull, overcast day so I thought that this was my best bet. On doing a bit of research online I found that it was given this name as a result of the medieval practice of soaking this particular fungus in milk to attract flies which would then be stunned by the concoction.
Sadly, himself didn’t catch another fish today and we set off for home tomorrow. However he is happy to have caught one under the difficult conditions this week.
