Put a tiger in your tank.

Scotland trip Day 18 Latheronwheel.

We headed back North this morning to visit a few places we couldn’t get to with Phoebe yesterday  but before we go we need to call in at the Harry Gow Bakery. Oh! the goodies on offer.

Our second stop was the lovely harbour at Latheronwheel  (its Gaelic name meaning ‘ muddy place of the pool’) and at one time was home of 50 boats although only a few remain now. After a walk around we sat in the picnic area and consumed our goodies.

Next stop another small harbour (I can feel a theme coming on) although no longer active.  It does provide an excellent viewpoint for Dunbeath Castle. I also see my first bird of the day a buzzard soaring overhead. We drive over the impressive A9 road bridge and carry on to our third harbour at Helmsdale and I get my boat fix for the day, we spot cormorants and a heron.

After a lovely day we return to the caravan and Mr PC cooks our meal on the barbecue ( we eat inside)

More adventures tomorrow.

Today’s blip is a bit off the wall - these were spotted in someone’s garden in Latheronwheel.
