The running of the sheep

This is silo art at Merriwa depicting produce of the area.   It is a sheep/crop district and unfortunately they had harvested their canola.  Better in August.   I went back to the place where there was a ramshamble old shack I had blipped years ago but alas it was no longer there.  The canola you can see here I suspect is escaped seed from earlier crops.  It was all along the road and spotting in many fields.

Plenty of wheat starting to form ears.  I have put a few up in the extras, the second extra is one from buzz.

The running of the sheep is part of the Festival of The Fleeces which is a big event over the long weekend in June with lots on.   Unfortunately it has had to be cancelled for the last two years because of Covid.

It was hard to get good shots as driving through the narrow roads with no places to pull over was disappointing.   Another lovely freedom day where I can travel around the state.
