Blue!

We renewed our passports recently. Notifications came that the applications had been received, then approved, then, on the 12th that it was 'on its way' (these messages were individually addressed as our applications were sent to different centres).

Did it arrive next day? After all, we sent back our old passports by next day delivery, as instructed. Well, the TNT (note: not the Post Office but a courier) tracker said it would be delivered on Thursday, 14th. That sounded ok, but on that day the tracker said Friday 15th. That day it said Saturday 16th. On that day it said Monday 18th. 

I was becoming concerned - was this a reflection of the shortage of drivers or, worryingly, had they gone missing? Reviews of that courier suggested that this was by no means a unique scenario.

 But guess what - some time during the morning, while we were in the house, they were put through the letterbox. Nobody rang the bell, nobody knocked the door, nobody asked for a signature, they just popped them through the door and ran away. 

A strange state of affairs for so important a document but they're both here.
