Still in Amtzell

The Plan for today was to get the bikes on the road. Yesterday was such a glorious day, the scenery is beautiful, and the whole area is riddled with walking and cycling trails.

We woke to cloud cover and occasional rain. Unfortunately neither of us had packed wet weather cycling gear.

We left the bikes alone and we walked back into town. Mr L had found a supermarket on Google Maps last night. How we missed seeing it yesterday I do not know, we passed very close by.

I failed to grab a photo of some splendidly bronzed smoked Mackerel on the fish counter. Such a glorious colour. We bought a few things but decided whilst we were doing it not to shop for dinner. We are eating out again. We are going to try some regional dishes. The restaurant where we are staying uses local organic produce, so we are hoping that it will be a good meal.

I did grab a photo of the old Schloss in the middle of town, something else that we had missed yesterday but stumbled across on today's exploration if footpaths and alleyways.

In town we spotted two squirrels, one of which was a charcoal grey in colour. Presumably a melanistic variant of the European Red Squirrel. He was very cute. We watched him run into a garden, grab some lunch, and run off with it again. I failed to get a photo.
