American museum and gardens

After a leisurely breakfast, decided to take a trip to the American Museum and gardens.

The museum is described as:
“ The American Museum takes you on a journey through a period of American history primarily focused on 14th – 20thcenturies. With its remarkable collection of folk, decorative arts and cultural objects, the Museum shows the diverse and complex nature of American traditions. The only museum of Americana outside of the United States, it was founded to bring American history and cultures to the people of Britain and Europe.”

The gardens are pretty, during summer with all the plants out in full colour I’m sure will be fab, but the last of the flowers were holding on and I managed to snap some beauties. Fortunately the rain held off, although was a tad blowy today.

It currently has an exhibition on - “Shooting Stars: Carinthia West, Britain and America in the 1970s. A series of rare behind the scenes photographs of the world’s most iconic rock stars and actors during the 1970’s” (Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, George Harrison, Eric Idle, Shelley Duvall, Helen Mirren, Neil Young, and Anjelica Huston). https://youtu.be/UbZzlaWRJ1A

We then popped in to Frome to have a wander around the town, found a coffee shop and did some people watching. Actually the main thing of interest were the 3 teenage youths, all sitting together with their heads in their phones. Not a word was uttered during the 20 mins or so we were there! :)

[My daughters PCR was positive, the children negative. May go back home earlier to help out, if we can, with the children (difficult to isolate with little ones). ]
