Excellent Eskdale

The forecast horrendous weather came through in the night, I was glad I was in the van and not a tent.
Collecting G this morning it was much nicer than we thought..... But everywhere was also saturated. Incredibly G had never wandered into Eskdale, so it was fabulous to be able to show her one of the Lake District's most beautiful places.
We wandered to Lingcove Bridge and then made our way into Upper Eskdale next to the spectacular falls in full spate.
We managed a cheeky little semi scramble up onto Scar Lathing, reaching its wonderful vantage point.... Just as the heavens opened.
With Great Moss effectively a lake we traversed round into Greenhole and eventually effected a crossing of a very full Lingcove Beck.
Then a long amble back across the top of Yew Bank after which we skirted the side of Hard Knott to go look at Eskdale Needle and back to the van via the Roman Fort.
I really couldn't choose, so you get a few extras.
