The Galloway Hoard

This morning I shared a gentle inclusive yoga class at Lincluden Community centre, which was also streamed live on Zoom to another 5 people.

In the afternoon we went to the Kirkcudbright Galleries to see The Galloway Hoard. The Galloway Hoard was discovered by a metal-detectorist in 2014 on what is now Church of Scotland land at Balmaghie in Kirkcudbrightshire. This collection of treasures included intricate Anglo Saxon broaches , silver ingots and this beautiful cross.
Afterwards we joined a workshop where we got to handle beautiful replicas of the treasures and we learnt more about the restoration of the artefacts.
The extra is a gold pin of a Phoenix.
