Zombie

Busy morning of online meetings and an interview (straightforward outcome thank goodness), then a (very) late sandwich lunch with T&Kt before finishing a catch up on email then heading over to K’s for a chat and supper. We talked about weddings, grandchildren, gardening (here’s one of her son’s zombie pumpkins!), school, holidays, etc etc ….in fact not really sure what, but we managed to chat on for hours whilst we ate our favourite chicken roasted with cream cheese and garlic under the skin, smashed roast potatoes and french peas. Delicious, and we sat and picked at it for ages before collapsing on the sofas with a rhubarb fool to watch Gardeners’ World etc then had a pot of tea. It’s a long time since we had this much time to chat, eat and relax together and felt like it marked the end of such a strange time.
Home and straight to bed.
