Cathedral Cave

Some of the other options for our last day at LPH were Slaters Bridge (extra), a 17th century packhorse bridge, and Cathedral Quarry in the Little Langdale area.  As I have never been to either, I took a detour on my way home.  The largest chamber in the quarry is known as Cathedral Cave due to its magnificent forty feet in height and light from two "windows" off the main quarry.

I also stopped off at Castlerigg Stone Circle , near Keswick and Grasmere for the obilgatory coffee. With good weather, I was enjoying the day so much that it was nearly 4pm before I finally made my way out of The Lake District, and reached home some 5hours later at 9pm ... I'm shattered, but it has been a good week.
