The hard to spot Greenfinch

I've had a few fleeting views of a pair of Greenfinch in the last week and heard plenty from them while they hide inside a dense conifer tree in the next garden.

Today I managed to take a few shots before the male flew off. This is through glass it didn't like me opening the window. Many years ago there was a colony of Greenfinches nesting across the road from my house in recent years they have just disappeared. Nice to see them back.

This afternoon we went for a walk at Hayfield and saw plenty of snow by the roads and on the way up the hill at Farlands to get a view of Kinder Scout's famous frozen waterfall Kinder Downfall
