Roadtrip!

~backblip~

On Saturday my Dutch photographer friend Martin Hogeboom (also known on blipfoto as ~everydaypeople) arrived in Belfast! After spending yesterday visiting my favourite restaurant and pubs, this morning we set off on our mini roadtrip around Ireland.

Our first task was to drive up the Causeway Coastal Route to the Old Bushmills Distillery, via the Giant's Causeway, which should be a pretty simple task at the end of March... but the snow had other plans! Martin spent the day working hard pushing our car out of the snow (3 times) as well as helping to rescue some Scottish, Swiss and Spanish tourists who had also become stuck. We finally made it to the north coast about 4 hours later than planned, but better late than never!

After a tour of the distillery we stopped off at the Giant's Causeway, then drove on along the coast and into Donegal to sleep. I took this photo at Downhill, with the famous Mussenden Temple on top of the cliff, Martin doing something creative with his camera, me and my x100 in the wing mirror and the sun setting in the background. The end of a very fun and eventful day! :)

PS: Martin blipped me today, looking windswept! http://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2886458

PPS: this photo and my last blip were inspired a little bit by photographer Karl Baden, whose work we saw at a Cartier-Bresson exhibition in London earlier this year - he shoots some really cool photos from car windows
