Color in Seattle

Drove home this morning after staying in Tsawwassen overnight  (our new plan to not do that drive at night)… it was dark when we got there (but not rainy or windy) and after we saw that the brand new Seattle Kraken hockey team was playing their first game in the new Climate Pledge Arena, we got take out dinner from the restaurant next door, lay on the bed and watched the tv.   Im not a hockey fan and they lost but it was fun to see the new arena.  It’s supposedly the first zero-carbon arena in the world powered by renewable energy, running amazing light displays and recycled water. etc etc.

In just the one week we have been gone, Seattle has changed color even more.  The blip is thru my window in my dining room, and the extra is this favorite view taken from I5 out the car window on approaching the exit for our neighborhood.  It looks glorious!    Rain off and on all day and  later the wind picked up but not nearly to what was predicted….yet. (?)   Power’s still on in the islands.    Only 1 of 4 rest stops from here to the border are open  (!, vandalized not enough staff)!  so we have taken to looking for coffee shops instead,  just off the freeway. (other extra)
