The GWR to the Clink

An excellent day out courtesy of the railway from Haverfordwest along the glorious Carmarthenshire coastline and eventually to the 1932 built Cardiff Central Station. Then via John Lewis (great toilets) to Cardiff Prison and one of the most sensible, inspiring and excellent projects of this decade, The Clink.

The Clink is a restaurant staffed from reception to kitchen to dining room by well trained prisoners working towards an HNC or other qualification. The food and service are impeccable and the former, highly edible. The prisoners learn a huge range of culinary, inter-personal and teamwork skills and we get a great meal - seems like a win-win-win to me....
