Where the Light Gets In

After the neighbours went away

with our neighbours here
six people were in the house —
not counting sookie

We invited our closest neighbours (one couple on each side of our house) to tea/coffee/juice/beer and pastries and we talked of what's going on in the village (well, the hamlet rather) which is not great as the occupant of the last house is getting more and more violent with one of the couples... It's been going on for almost two years now if I understood correctly, and the culprit went from damaging their house (they're only here on weekends and longer periods in summer) to vocal threats one of the last time they were here. The police has been notified many times, it's going to end up in the courts but we think he actually would be better in a psych ward. His behaviour switched all of a sudden, as if he'd stopped taking some meds he should take. He acts paranoid (the threats are apparently because he thinks our (good) neighbours spy on him... We hope the situation will find a suitable end, because it's not a comfortable one for anybody around. Having to look at your feet when you go pick up the mail at the end of the lane because he could construe your looking at his house as a menace is not a normal situation!
