G G Gooder and Son

This afternoon I travelled over to Heckmondwike for a dental check-up. I've been going to the same dental surgery for going on 40 years.  Fifty years ago I went to  the Grammar School here so this afternoon, after my appointment, I took some time revisiting old haunts.

G.G.Gooder used to be one of the local plumbers and his son used to operate Greenside Motors, a small garage in the adjacent building. He also drove a Lotus Europa (which seemed to spend most of its life being repaired).  The town centre building, whilst looking derelict, has hardly changed in half a century .
