Tonto Natural Bridge State Park

Our adventure today was to go up to Payson Arizona for a reconnaissance trip and check on a camp site for this summer. Success! We located a great spot at a park less than a mile from the heart of town. We'll be there from the end of June for two months. This is a new area for us so we'll have much exploring to do. On our return trip we visited this spot with little time to spare before heading home. I'm looking forward to shoot this from down below accessed by a foot path a few hundred feet down. This should be a ton of fun this summer. It's difficult to see here but there is a water shower running over the mossy area falling down 180 ft to the creek below. I'm just hoping it's still running then. Also you can see small reflecting pools well inside the bridge reflecting light from the other side opening.
A little history. This natural bridge was first documented by David Gowan, a Scotsman, in 1877 while hiding from hostile Apache tribe members.
